GARTNER Director Marcus Nispel Shows Versatility of Mercedes-Benz Metris
This spot from Merkley + Partners NY showcases the ability of the new Mercedes-Benz Metris to reconfigure itself, showing its towing-ability, stowing-ability, range-ability, arrange-ability, protect-ability, detect-ability--and various other “possi-abilities.”

Director Marcus Nispel of GARTNER took on this project, a mix of product, story and design, to depict the versatility of the Metris.

“This is a spot that needed to show what the car looks like and all of its possibilities--inside and out,” said Nispel. “I knew that with so much detail, simplicity would be key. An origami-like unfolding with a Bauhaus style. Helvetica, a Massimo Vignelli layout. More like a print brochure than a typical spot. Academic, industrial, but clever and fun.

Drawing on his roots in design, Nispel worked with the Merkley team to weave together a tapestry of possibilities inherent in the Metris. Utilizing multiple split screens and sliding frames, the spot--titled “Endless Possabilities”--showcases the Metris’ ability to adapt to almost any use.
